Project Description

The scope of this project was the rehabilitation of the 240-year old masonry arch bridge in Siete Aguas, Valencia. Degree of Freedom was responsible for all engineering disciplines.

The project consisted of three parts: complete renewal of the secondary road over the bridge to convert it to pedestrian use, the rehabilitation of the bridge and the renewal of the viewing platform adjacent to the bridge.

The intervention on the stone bridge included the removal, cleaning and re-installation of the damaged pieces of the non-structural, ornamental arch, the removal of vegetation, and the cleaning of all surfaces. The spandrel walls were also reinforced by means of glass-fibre anchors and lime-based mortar injections in the existing structure.

Service Provided
