The project consisted of the reconstruction of the FGV railway bridge in Paiporta following the severe flooding of October 2024. The existing bridge deck had been rendered unusable after a concrete pedestrian walkway upstream collapsed and impacted the railway structure.
The intervention replaced the former independent platforms with a single 13-metre-wide deck, significantly increasing the global horizontal robustness of the structure. The existing piers were retained and strengthened at their upper sections to support the new deck configuration. Lateral restraints were incorporated at beam level to prevent displacement under potential future flood events.
Foundation reinforcement measures were implemented where required to ensure compliance with current standards.
