This project in three parts included the reparation and reinforcement of the structures and substructures of Quisi Viaduct (Benissa) and Ferrandet Viaduct (Benissa); the replacement of three small railway bridges over the CV-759 road (Villajoyosa) and N-332 (Teulada and Gata de Gorgos); and the replacement of structure and reinforcement of substructures of Aguas Viaduct (El Campello).




The intervention on the Quisi and Ferrandet viaducts consisted on the reparation of structural damages detected and the structural reinforcement needed to adapt the historical structure to the current acting loads (e.g. ground anchors has been made at abutments for resist the braking forces or Shock Transmission Units has been disposed at piles for resist the seismic loads).



 


The three small railway bridges have been replaced by three new structures, taking into account that replacing decks was cheaper than rehabilitating them and it required less railway traffic interruption. Not to reduce the clearance gauge of roads and not to increase the elevation of rails were the main constraints for the design of the new structures.




Finally, the intervention on the Aguas Viaduct consisted on the replacement of the deck by a new structure and the structural reinforcement of abutments and piers in order to resist the acting loads. As done before, the renewal of the deck was preferred to the rehabilitation due to the lower railway traffic interruption required.
