Skanseløpet is a 100m long swing footbridge in Trondheim, that is used in average 1500 times a year to let boats in and out.
The bridge structure is composed of three parts made of steel frames. The two outer parts are fixed, while the 44m long center part rotates horizontally around a concrete foundation, that also contains a technical room. The rotary mechanism is powered by several hydraulically controlled motors.
Norconsult are the designers of this bridge which swings open in the horizontal plane. Multiconsult has been responsible for the design of pedestrian roads, ground constructions (piles, spits, etc.), VA technical, electrical engineering installations and associated electrical infrastructure. Degree of freedom, in collaboration with Grand Mécanique et Développement, is doing the control of the mechanical design.
