Today, Gaute Mo will be giving a talk at 13:00 at the Nordic Steel Construction Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark (www.nordicsteel2019.dk). He will be presenting his paper on the Väster pedestrian and cycle bridge in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Cowriters are Fernando Ibáñez from Degree of Freedom, and Göran Werme, Henrik Hermansson, and Johan Eriksson from WSP. The Väster pedestrian and cycle bridge is a 65-metre long, three span, steel structure. Degree of Freedom has been WSP’s subconsultant and had the responsibility for the architectural and structural conceptual design, including elaboration of three alternatives, while WSP has carried out the detailed design and followed up the construction work. The client is the Cito of Eskilstuna, main contractor NCC, and steel fabricator Normek Sverige. The project won in 2016 the Swedish Architect´s Associations Södermanland´s Award for Good Architecture.
